Château Marquis de Terme is a Fourth Growth estate situated within the Margaux appellation. The château itself is located in the southern fringes of Margaux village, which is now administratively known as Margaux-Cantenac. The vineyards, with some vines reaching nearly 40 years of age, are rooted in high gravel-rich soils. The grape composition comprises 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Here we have a rare bottle from the 1966 vintage, a classic year for Bordeaux, featuring elegant and well-structured wines that required some ageing to mellow but ultimately exceeded expectations.
