Château Léoville Poyferré 2009 is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the St-Julien appellation of Bordeaux. The property has been owned by the Cuvelier family since 1920 and is today managed by Sara Lecompte Cuvelier, who took over from her uncle, Didier Cuvelier, in 2017. Through modernisation of the wine cellar and a major programme of vineyard replanting and expansion, Didier significantly raised the reputation of Léoville Poyferré, which now enjoys the status of one of the finest – and best-value – properties in St-Julien. "Ripe and creamy but also refined and lively, this is a beautiful 2009 Medoc, the fine tannins adding a lot to the long and silky finish.
