Château Le Gay is one of the finest estates in Pomerol, producing superb Merlot-based wines. The property is owned by the group Vignobles Péré Vergé, whose portfolio also includes the châteaux La Violette, Montviel and La Gravière. This release is the grand vin from the 2000 vintage, made from vines that are at least 50 years old. A beautifully aged Pomerol, packed with notes of violets, sweet plums, smoked wood and an underlying stream of earthiness.
