Telmo Rodriguez`s Rioja wines are among the best, partly because they exclusively use perfectly ripe grapes from the finest, highest-altitude vineyards. The grapes for this cuvée come from the small 1.9-hectare Las Beatas, located at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria in the northwest part of Rioja Alavesa. Las Beatas has 10 terraces facing three different directions. east, south, and northwest. It features both old and new vines of 8-9 different local grape varieties.
