Created in 1906 in Hendaye, by the pharmacist and botanist Joseph Grattau, Izarra means `star` in Basque and is the emblematic liqueur of the Basque Country. Izarra Yellow is the fruit of the distillation of several plants and spices. The final blend includes honey, added following the various macerations in alcohol and Armagnac. Rich and complex on the nose, giving off vegetal and spicy notes of cinnamon and coriander, slightly aniseed. On the palate, the meeting of vegetal, spicy notes and the sweetness of honey.
