Nestled within the Chianti Classico region, Podere Poggio Scalette is a Tuscan estate renowned for its Super Tuscan-style wines falling under the Alta Valle della Greve IGT designation. Introduced in 1992, `Il Carbonaione` represents a single-vineyard Sangiovese crafted from vines aged over 80 years. This particular release hails from the 1997 vintage, one of the best vintages in Tuscany for the past 30 years.
