They are one of the largest landowners on the famous hill of Hermitage and this wine is produced from a selection of the finest parcels of Syrah from the Les Bessards, Le Meal, Greffieux and Rocoules lieux-dits. For many, the 1961 is one of the best red wines ever made. It is dense, concentrated and profoundly complex with every single component in perfect harmony. This has scored a perfect 100-points from The Wine Advocate on four separate occasions and has been given a drinking window 2030-2060.
