Henschke Hill of Roses 2017
On the nose, the 2017 displays perfumed aromas of garden florals together with red and black fruit, crushed herbs and cedar notes. A concentrated core of plush red plum and raspberry on the palate, layered with blackberry, blueberry, anise, musk and black pepper. Textural, mature, velvety tannins carry an elegantly long finish.
Henschke
The Henschke name is synonymous with fine winemaking in Australia, the family are part of the "First Families" - ten of the countries oldest and most respected family-owned, multi-generation wineries. Other names on the roster include d'Arenberg, Yalumba, Tyrrells and Tahbilk. Henschke is currently managed by Prue and Stephen Carl Henschke. Stephen is the youngest son of the famous Cyril Henschke, who elevated the winery to become one of Australia's most highly regarded.
The winery produce a number of fine Cabernet Sauvignon, dry Rieslings and Semillon, but their flagship wine is undoubtedly Hill of Grace single vineyard Shiraz - intense, concentrated and age-worthy - Hill of Grace is considered by many to be Australia's greatest red wine.
