Heitz Cellars is the iconic Napa Valley winery founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, the first vintage of which was 1966. The 2000 vintage is in its prime, revealing notes of eucalyptus, black cherries, cassis, sage, bay leaf and forest floor. 2000 was also the year that Joe Heitz sadly passed away.
