The 2017 Guru from boutique Douro outfit, Wine & Soul, is a brilliant field blend of old-vine Viosinho, Rabigato, Codega and Gouveio, aged for seven months in mostly used French oak. This is a wonderfully expressive and satin-textured wine with supreme harmony between bright aromatics, rich layers of fruit and subtle oak influence. With excellent acidity and cooling minerality, this is a brilliant all-round dry white wine that pairs as well with simply prepared fresh seafood as it does a more substantial herb-roasted chicken.
