Formed in 1982, Domaine des Chezeaux holdings are owned by the esteemed Mercier family who operate the umbrella company called SNC des Chezeaux. Most of the ownership of the land dates back to the early 1930s. This release hails from Griotte-Chambertin, the smallest of the Grand Cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin with only 2.73 hectares. 2003 will be remembered in Burgundy for its ferocious heatwave, but the best producers managed to make spectacular wines from that vintage.
