Alvaro Palacios is widely recognized as one of Spain`s most influential winemakers, celebrated for his instrumental role in elevating the status of the Priorat appellation. He is renowned for embracing the Burgundian concepts of `villages` and `crus,` which he has ingeniously adapted to Priorat. One of his remarkable creations, the `Gratallops` bottling, was conceived as a Vi de Vila (akin to `Village` in Priorat) wine, sourced from a collection of small vineyards in Gratallops, the central winemaking hub of the region. Floral nuances, spiced herbs, cherries, and mineral undertones grace the nose, leading to a palate that boasts exceptional equilibrium and depth.
