Graham`s Vintage 1994

HED2014 75cl 20%
Graham`s Vintage 1994 is a vintage Port produced by Graham`s in the Douro Valley of Portugal. Founded in 1820 by William and John Graham, for nearly two centuries Graham’s has cultivated its reputation as one of the greatest names in Port. Their Vintage Port is only produced in the finest years with parcels of grapes from their flagship property, Quinta dos Malvedos and other selected vineyards. On the 1994 vintage. "The 1994 Graham’s Vintage Port, which incidentally carries quite noticeable sediment, as there is no fining or filtration, is beginning to show a little bricking on the rim. The bouquet is very harmonious and welcoming, featuring aromas of mulberry, roasted chestnut, pressed rose petals, autumn leaves and a hint of liquorice. The nose is not powerful; rather, it displays a brooding intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and lightly spiced with clove, pain d’épices and again, a scintilla of liquorice. Though it obviously has another 20 or 30 years in the tank, this mellow Graham’s is drinking beautifully now." Vinous, 2018

Graham`s

Graham`s

For almost two centuries W & J Graham’s has been an independent family business renowned for producing fine Port wines. Scots William and John Graham initially founded a company in Glasgow to trade in textiles. However in 1820 they accepted 27 pipes of Port as payment of a debt and subsequently decided to dedicate their business to producing the finest Ports of the Douro Valley: thus Graham's Port house was born.

In 1970 Graham’s was acquired by the Symington family, which had had an association with the Graham’s ever since Andrew James Symington sailed from Scotland to Porto to work for them in 1882. Nowadays Graham’s is synonymous with the famous Graham's Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia and the vineyard of Quinta dos Malvedos – the latter a cornerstone of Graham’s Vintage Ports and Single Harvest Tawny Ports.
