The 2008 Gracia has a ripe and generous bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry, fig compote and a touch of sage. It is not complex but I admire the definition. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet red fruit and yet the tannins feel edgy and a little angular, so that they don’t quite fit together. I would like more synergy here between the constituent parts. There is a welcome touch of spice on the finish but I was expecting more. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 10-Year On tasting. - Neil Martin
Founded in 1997 by former stonemason, Michel Gracia. The 2008 release is described by the critic Jane Anson as follows, "This is always a big St-Émilion, and it stays true to brand. Pretty fierce in its extraction, but there is gorgeous juice that pours in alongside the liquorice root, muscular tannins and cassis fruits if you are patient. Drinking Window 2025 - 2040."
