HED91011 70cl 56.3%
Glencadam is a Highland distillery located in the town of Brechin. It was founded in 1825 and has a reputation for producing whiskies with a fruity and spicy character. This particular release was distilled in 1991 and bottled independently by Blackadder as part of their ‘Raw Cask’ series, which is known for bottling whiskies at cask strength with minimal filtration or processing. The alcohol content of this expression will be quite prominent, so it is recommended to add a bit of water to the whisky to unlock the full range of flavours and aromas.

Glencadam

Founded in 1825 by George Cooper, Glencadam is situated near the River Esk in the Scottish Highlands. Having passed through the hands of many owners in the 19th and 20th centuries, the distillery is currently operated by Angus Dundee, who also own Tomintoul. Glencadam run two spirit stills, producing just under one and a half million litres of new make a year. Ex-Bourbon casks are favoured for maturation and the spirit is noted for its creamy, barley-led character.

The core range includes a non-age-statement called "Origin 1825", aged in a combination of Bourbon and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, a 10 year old and a 15 year old. Limited edition vintage bottlings, special finishes and single casks editions have gained praise from critics.
