Giscours Magnum 2008

HED93246 150cl 13%
Château Giscours 2008 is a full-bodied Left Bank Bordeaux red wine from the appellation of Margaux. The Third Growth Château Giscours is one of the largest properties in Margaux that in recent years has earned consistent plaudits for the quality of its wines. Giscours produces intensely aromatic, smooth yet structured Cabernet-based blends. The typical ratio is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks and the wine is then aged in 40% new barriques for 18 months. "Dark plum/garnet, this elegant, medium to full-bodied, beguiling, seductive 2008 is a sleeper of the vintage. Round and silky-smooth with lovely black cherry and black currant fruit imbued with touches of smoke, herbs and earth, this relatively evolved effort is best consumed over the next 15-17 years." Robert Parker, 2011
