Maume Gevrey-Chambertin Champeaux 1999 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru climat of Champeaux in the Gevery-Chambertin commune of the Côte de Nuits. Maume is a relatively small estate in Gevrey-Chambertin, which during the stewardship of Bernard Maume was just under 4 hectares. The property was acquired in 2012 by Moray Tawse whose portfolio also includes holdings in Argentina and Canada. This release hails from Champeaux (or Les Champeaux), a distinguished Premier Cru vineyard situated at the northern fringe of Gevrey-Chambertin. The 6.88 ha vineyard is dedicated exclusively to Pinot Noir red wines which are notable for their structure and mineral character.
