Fleurie Poncié Philippe Viet 2022 is a Beaujolais crafted exclusively from Gamay grapes sourced from the renowned Poncié lieu-dit. Philippe Viet, who established his domaine in Villié-Morgon in 2019, prioritises low-intervention practices. His vineyards, consisting of 50-year-old vines, are farmed organically without chemicals. The wine is produced using whole-bunch fermentation and minimal sulphur, which allows the natural fruit characteristics to emerge.
The 2022 Fleurie Poncié has a vivacious nose with energetic red cherries and crushed strawberries laced with marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite structured for a Fleurie, with sufficient salinity on the finish to beckon you back for more—well-crafted and quite delicious.
