Zuccardi Finca Piedra Infinita Gravascal 2018 is a single-vineyard Malbec from the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina. The Zuccardi family is one of the leading producers of fine terroir wine in South America. Winemaker Sebastian Zuccardi has taken the site specificity of the family`s wines to the extreme. Located in the alluvial plain of the Tunuyán River, the Piedra Infinita vineyard is very heterogeneous in terms of soil composition, depth and limestone content. Everything is managed precisely, not just block-by-block, but row-by-row. This cuvée comes from 0.73ha plot in the north-east section of the vineyard, where sub-surface limestone gravels predominate. This 2018 vintage was a 100-point wine for Wine Advocate. "The 2018 Finca Piedra Infinita Gravascal has notes reminiscent of some wines from the Northern Rhône, a combination of orange peel, blood and iron, denoting freshness and minerality, with a chalky sensation and a finish that is a mixture of juiciness, stoniness, saltiness and texture."
