Château Figeac is a Premier Grand Cru Classé A wine estate in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux. It is one of the largest properties in Saint-Émilion, comprising 54 hectares in one block, of which 41 hectares are vineyards. The estate was acquired by the Manoncourt family in 1935 and has been under their ownership ever since. The 2012 vintage is a seamless, beautifully balanced wine with a remarkable level of concentration, freshness and purity. The dense, black-fruit and mineral-laced nose is followed by a full-bodied palate that builds in intensity from entry to finish.
The 2012 Figeac is really beginning to come into its own and entering a sweet spot. This is the best I`ve had. Now more open on the nose, it has a wonderful bouquet with black fruit, cedar and blood orange, perhaps still with a patina of new oak to be fully assimilated. The palate is very pure and well-defined, linear and "strict" in a Médoc manner, whereas previous bottles have more of a peacock`s tail. This just makes it more enticing. Tasted at the private room at Noble Rot Soho. - Neil Martin - The 2012 Figeac is really beginning to come into its own and entering a sweet spot. This is the best I've had. Chateau Figeac

Chateau Figeac

Château Figeac is one of the finest producers in Saint-Émilion and is just one of fourteen properties classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) in 2012, putting it firmly in the highest echelons of the region.

Owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892, the history of this superb estate can be traced back to the Roman era and today spans 40ha. The majority of the grapes produced go into producing the celebrated first wine of the estate, Château Figeac, a classic style of Saint-Émilion with wonderful texture and tannic power. A small amount of the second wine, Le Petit Figeac is also produced.
