A unique cuvée that carries the history of two renowned winemakers in Burgundy, Emmanuel Rouget and Georges Jayer. This Grand Cru Echézeaux is made from vines in the parcel once owned by Georges Jayer, who is often hailed as one of the pioneers of ‘modern’ Burgundy winemaking. Rouget, who is also Georges Jayer’s nephew, has been carrying on his uncle`s traditional, low-intervention winemaking methods, which allow the terroir to shine. His Echézeaux Grand Cru wines typically show a mix of power and elegance with generous fruit character, earthy nuances, and well-integrated tannins.
The 2002 harvest benefitted from a warm, dry season, which, while yielding a smaller crop, set the stage for a red wine distinguished by its structure. It offers a blend of ripe fruit and balanced acidity,
