Domaine de l’Horizon is a tiny winery based in the small village of Calce, right in the far southwestern corner of France, exceptionally close to the Spanish border. Here, German-born winemaker Thomas Teibert, produces miniscule quantities of highly terroir-driven wine from the gnarly old vines of the IGP Côtes Catalanes. The Rosé is made from Grenache sourced from 70-year-old vines planted on schist slopes overlooking the Mediterranean. A stunning shimmering pink in the glass, it is a very subtle and elegant on the nose, with notes of vivid red berry fruit, citrus and wild herbs. On the palate it has superb concentration of fruit, with remarkable innate complexity and thrilling mineral tension.
