Paul Jaboulet Ainé is one of the most highly acclaimed producers of Northern Rhône wine and is capable of making some of the finest wines in the region. Owned since 2006 by the Frey family (also of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux) all their vineyards are now certified organic and are cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The 2016 Domaine de Thalabert Crozes Hermitage is rich, lush and supple, with lovely notes of plummy fruits, olive tapenade, garrigue and cracked black pepper. Though perfect to drink when young, there is enough textural fibre and savoury complexity to ensure evolution over the next 3-5 years.
