Clavis Orea – which is Latin for ‘golden key’ – is a relatively new wine from the Saint-Émilion appellation, only produced since 2015. The label is the brainchild of co-founders, Franck Jugelmann and Lahcene Boutouba, who both hail from families of restaurateurs. The 2019 vintage is a very polished wine, offering layers of dark berries, liquorice, espresso, bitter chocolate and a touch of smoke.
