This is a new wine from the highly acclaimed Barossa Valley winemaker, Chris Ringland. He has owned the 110-year-old Stone Chimney Creek Vineyard since 1994 and has always divided it into distinct subsections which are harvested and fermented separately prior to blending for either the Barossa Ranges or Randall’s Hill labels. This is a specific barrel selection from a parcel in the extreme south-eastern corner of the vineyard, which has the shallowest soils and lowest per-vine yields. 2013 was an exceptional vintage so this can be expected to be incredibly concentrated and remarkably long-lived. Production is, of course, exceptionally limited, with just 200 magnums released.
