The Davaz family has been making wine in Switzerland since the early 1970s. In 1990, the family acquired Poggio al Sole, nestled between the towns of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and Greve in Chianti. They produce around 9,000 bottles of Casasilia, which is aged in old and new French oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months. The wine displays deep fruit with enticing hints of bramble, forest floor and a touch of tobacco. Polished, elegant maturity on the palate with a long finish.
