Chevalier Montrachet Domaine Leflaive 2010

HED0928 75cl 13.5%
Domaine Leflaive crafts its Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru from three parcels, covering a total of 1.8 hectares. These parcels were originally planted between 1955 and 1980. The vineyard team meticulously hand-harvests and sorts all the grapes. The fermentation takes place primarily in used oak casks, followed by a 12-month maturation period. Despite a cooler-than-average growing season, France experienced a remarkable year, producing legendary wines in Bordeaux, Sauternes, and the Rhône Valley, as well as exceptional wines in Burgundy, Beaujolais, the Loire Valley, and Alsace.

Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive

Founded in the 18th century, Domaine Leflaive has built a storied reputation for its commitment to biodynamic farming and exceptional craftsmanship. The estate owns 22 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares of Premiers Crus in Puligny-Montrachet (Les Combettes, Les Pucelles, Le Clavoillon, Les Folatières), as well as no fewer than 5 hectares of Grands Crus (Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and a tiny holding in Le Montrachet).

Joseph Leflaive, whose vision and dedication in the early 20th century were pivotal, transformed the domaine into a symbol of excellence. In the 1990s, Anne-Claude Leflaive introduced biodynamic practices, adhering to rigorous standards that respect the natural rhythms of the earth, promoting soil health and vine vitality without synthetic chemicals. This holistic approach results in Chardonnay wines celebrated for their purity, depth, and complexity. Each bottle reflects the rich heritage and innovative spirit that have made Domaine Leflaive a revered name among wine enthusiasts.
