Château de Beaucastel is one of the oldest and finest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. 1989 saw the debut release of the flagship wine, Hommage a Jacques Perrin, which is only made in the best years and has production of around 350 cases on average. 2015 was widely considered exceptional and this is yet another remarkable iteration of this wine. Typically seductive on the nose it leaps from the glass with delicious waves of blackberry, blueberry, kirsch, liquorice, game, exotic spices and new saddle leather. Though concentrated, powerful and firmly structured, the balance and transparency of this wine never ceases to captivate. Drink if particularly impatient but this should evolve wonderfully in the cellar.
