Mounir and Rotem Saouma, of Burgundy producer Lucien Le Moine, have always had profound love for the Grenache variety and of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, and have slowly managed to acquire 21 acres of exceptional quality vines across all its 5 villages. Arioso comes from a tiny plot in the prime area of Pignan with vines planted in the 1930s and is made from 100% Grenache. From the sensational 2015 vintage, this is a rather superlative effort that immediately grabs your attention. It is endowed with remarkably pure red fruits and incredibly savoury depth throughout, exhibiting exceptional harmony, precision and clarity. There is abundant youthful appeal, but this will easily shift through more gears if cellared for 5 to 10 years.
