Château Haute-Serre’s first vintage of AOC Cahors was in 1976 and, ever since, it has been a major player in gaining recognition for the region’s wines. From the superb 2015 vintage, the Grand Vin Seigneur is a blend of 90% Malbec, 7% Merlot and 3% Tannat, abundant with powerful notes of morello cherry, blackcurrant, liquorice, dried violets and spices. It is full-bodied, rich and firmly structured, making this an excellent wine to pair with chargrilled meats but also mature hard cheeses.
