Echezeaux Perdrix 2004 presents a complex bouquet, featuring notes of dark cherry, plum and a hint of earthiness, complemented by subtle nuances of leather and herbs. The palate reveals layers of blueberry and raspberry, accompanied by a striking minerality. The tannin structure is firm yet integrated, allowing for a measured expression of fruit. The oak influence is present but remains in the background, adding depth without overwhelming.
Honey, herbs, flowers and spices on the nose. Fresh but a bit lean in the mouth, then loses its focus on the back half. Some unresolved acidity on the finish. Still, this is brighter and less evolved than the '98.
