Domaine Odoul Coquard Chambolle-Musigny 2022 is a full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the commune of Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Odoul-Coquard was founded in the early 20th century and remains family owned and operated, managing 9 hectares of vineyards in 21 different appellations throughout the Côte de Nuits. The domaine`s 2022 village Chambolle is produced from a blend of four old-vine plots around the village and matured in 40% new oak. Expect a darkly fruited Pinot Noir with fine structure and hints of toasty oak.
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from three lieux-dits, matured in 40% new oak. That wood obscures some of the fruit at the moment; I might have been inclined to use just one new barrel out of the five. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins and dark berry fruit with a touch of orange rind. It feels just a bit abrupt on the finish.
