The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses from Robert Groffier is a stunning wine that exemplifies the richness and depth of this iconic vineyard. 2009 was a warm vintage, and Groffier`s vines thrived, producing wines with power and concentration. The wine is aromatic, with ripe red fruits, floral notes of violet, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant, with a luxurious texture and well-structured tannins that promise longevity. The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses is a bit unusual for this site. The fruit shows more depth, concentration and overt richness than most wines from this vineyard. The signature perfume emerges with time, but this remains a wine essentially built on an intense core of fruit. Groffier used 10% stems here. The finish shows a little heat, which is the only thing that keeps the score from going higher. - Antonio Galloni - Good full red. Inviting, slightly liqueur-like aromas of red fruits, flowers, spices, roasted herbs, burnt sugar, licorice and pepper. Broad and silky-sweet in the mouth, with spice and pepper treble notes giving the wine a surprisingly light touch for such a large-scaled Amoureuses. Finishes with dusty tannins and classic dryness.
