Caymus Vineyards was founded in 1972 by the Wagner family and has since gained a strong reputation for producing rich, bold, and fruit-forward wines. Based in Rutherford, in California`s Napa Valley, it is well-known for its high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon wines, particularly the Caymus Special Selection, which is considered one of the top Cabernets produced in the region. This magnum bottle hails from the 1974 vintage, an excellent year in California. The steady and cool spring to early summer weather transitioned into a hot late summer and early autumn, creating ideal conditions for the harvest.
