This handy half bottle of 2018 Château Canon is a blend of 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc, from vines with an average age of 30 years. The wine spent 18 months in oak, 52% being new barrels. The resulting wine is very aromatic, including scents of dark fruits, cherries and marzipan. It’s a medium to full-bodied wine, yet elegant, with silky, refined tannins and a tangy sweetness of a Bakewell tart.
