Surrounded by 50 hectares of vineyards and sheltered by the Sierra Cantabria, Bodegas Campillo is located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, in the medieval town of Laguardia. The 1966 Gran Reserva vintage shows a gravy colour, with a pale tawny rim. On the nose, musty and lush vegetation, bell peppers and cloves. The wine is medium-bodied, with still quite firm tannins, spicy oak, slightly charred, caramel and some leather.
