`Buffalo Trace Single Oak Barrel Project Barrel No. 111 is a limited-edition bourbon produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. This single-barrel whiskey is part of a larger experiment conducted by Buffalo Trace Distillery to analyse the effects of subtle differneces in oak on their flagship whiskey. It began with 96 specially selected American oak trees, each with a unique number of growth rings per inch and planted in a different location. A barrel was constructed from each tree, and the char level and stave seasoning was different for each. They were filled with whiskeys of varying recipes and entry proofs, and aged in a variety of warehouse locations.
