Banfi was founded in 1978 by Italian-American brothers, John and Harry Mariani. Positioned at the confluence of the Orcia and Ombrone rivers, this beautiful estate extends along the southern slopes of the commune of Montalcino and is planted to vines, olive groves, wheat fields and plum trees, interspersed with forest and scrub. This is an elegant and superbly balanced wine, typified by rich, heady and complex aromas and flavours of black cherry, spices, earth and tobacco.
