Bollinger PN VZ19 NV is a vintage blanc de noirs Champagne produced by Champagne Bollinger in Aÿ, France. PN VZ19 represents the fifth interpretation in an annual series of Champagnes focusing on one of Bollinger’s Pinot Noir crus. PN VZ19 highlights the cru of Verzenay (`VZ`) which makes up 40% of the blend, with the balance coming from Aÿ, Avenay, Louvois, Mutigny and Tauxières. The blend features 52% from 2019 and 48% of Bollinger`s reserve wines, with the oldest from 2009. "The NV (2019) PN VZ is another terrific wine in this new range of Champagnes from Bollinger that is now in its fifth release. Exotic floral and spice notes play off a core of Pinot fruit in this captivating, mid-weight offering. Time in the glass accents the wine’s inner sweetness and perfume. Pear, mint, jasmine and white pepper linger. In this release, the (2019) PN VZ is like a mini-Vieilles Vignes Francaises. It’s an incredibly racy, sexy Blanc de Noirs. This release is based on 2019, with 50% reserve wines back to 2009. About half of the reserve wines were aged in magnum. Dosage is 6 grams per litre. Drinking Window 2024-2039." Vinous, 2024

Bollinger

Synonymous with sophistication and quality, Champagne Bollinger was awarded the Royal Warrant as Official Purveyor of Champagne to Queen Victoria in 1884. From special cuvées and Rosé Champagnes, to rarely seen vintages, luxurious large formats and Recently Disgorged styles, this is a wonderful House to discover. Bollinger wines even have a close association with James Bond - and rare limited editions have been released in celebration of the films from Moonraker to No Time To Die.

The Bollinger vineyard covers 179 hectares, with 85% of these Grand and Premier Cru. One of the last family-run Champagne houses in the region, Bollinger is located in the village of Aÿ, near Épernay. A number of practices are key to the Bollinger approach: the majority of grapes used in the wines have to come from the Maison's own vineyards; Pinot Noir must play a dominant role in the blend; the role of micro-oxygenation from barrel fermentation; and long periods of bottle aging (two to three times longer than required).
