On the palate, the sherry influence shines through beautifully on the palate, delivering flavours of stewed plums, blackcurrants, and spiced fruitcake. The mouthfeel is luscious and oily, with a hint of charred oak and an earthy smokiness.

Unlike many Speyside distilleries, Benromach incorporates a light peat influence into its spirit, lending a unique character that complements its traditional Speyside sweetness.
Benromach
Founded in 1898 by Ducan McCallum is F.W. Brickman, Benromach is a Speyside distillery located in Morayshire. The distillery operate one wash still and one spirit still and annual production is around half a million litres a year. Following a period of closure, the distillery was acquired by Gordon and MacPhail in the early 1990s and bottling resumed later the same decade, much to the delight of single malt enthusiasts. The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.
Limited editions and cask finishes have been central to Benromach's identity in recent years while the core range offers fantastic quality across the board.
