Donnafugata Ben Ryé 2021 is a full-bodied sweet wine produced from Zibibbo grapes on the island of Pantelleria off the coast of Sicily. Produced in a passito style from Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria) grapes grown on the volcanic soils of Pantelleria, this wine spends eight months maturing in oak casks and a further 12 months resting in bottle before release. Producer note. "Ben Ryé 2021 has a golden colour with bright amber reflections. It has a very intense bouquet with fruity notes of apricot, yellow peach and candied orange peel, tropical notes of mango and papaya, followed by hints of Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth, fruity notes and hints of aromatic herbs are found, combined with sweet nuances of honey. Intense and persistent, with an extraordinary balance between freshness and sweetness, Ben Ryè is a bewitching Passito di Pantelleria, among the most appreciated sweet wines in the world."
