Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc 1997 is a full-bodied white Burgundy from the Premier Cru monopole of Clos des Mouche in the Côte de Beaune. Joseph Drouhin is one of the most respected names in Burgundy. An owner of domaines including Domaine Marquis de Laguiche and the monopole of Clos des Mouches, as well as operating a hugely successful negociant business, the family-owned Drouhin is justly respected for producing such a diverse portfolio of Burgundy wines with such a clear signature of their terroir. "This is a big white Burgundy, with lots of pear, tropical, vanilla bean, smoke and toast notes. There is great balance here as the lemony acidity holds its own against the oak and ripe fruit." Wine Spectator, 1999
