Domaine Vincent & Francois Jouard Bâtard Montrachet 2002 is a full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Grand Cru of Bâtard-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. Situated in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Vincent et François Jouard is a family estate run by the two brothers. They have two tiny parcels of Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, the larger one situated at mid-slope was planted in 1941, whereas the smaller one was planted in 1996. Bâtard is rich in clay and limestone washed from the top and benefits from a warm exposure. The grapes are hand-harvested, and only indigenous yeasts are used in the fermentation. The wine is aged in 100% new oak and there is usually only one barrel produced.
