The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques (40% new) and is then rested for up to 50 days in cement tanks. It then spends a further six months in bottle before release. Agricola Punica is joint venture between the T enuta San Guido Sassicaia Group, Sardinian winery Cantina di Santadi and the legendary Tuscan winemaker Giacomo Tachis. A deep, brooding wine with smooth, ripe red and black fruits, dried herbs and hints of liquorice and blueberry. The palate expands with seductive chocolate and cassis flavours and subtle notes of toasty oak.
