Barolo La Pira Vecchie Viti Roagna (3 x 75cl) 2019
This wine is crafted from a selection of the oldest vines in the Pira vineyard, a geographical mention owned exclusively by the winery. The soils, of marine sedimentary origin from the Helvetian era, are among the oldest in the Barolo region, spanning Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d`Alba, and Monforte.
Pira’s soil composition, derived from the breakdown of the Rocche, features alternating layers of white limestone, grey marl, blue marl, and sand, rich in minerals like iron. Annual production is just 2,000 to 3,000 bottles.
