Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano Prunotto 1970

HED95399 75cl 13%
Prunotto Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano 1970 is a mature-vintage single-vineyard red wine produced from Nebbiolo grapes in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Montestefano was the first single-vineyard site to be classified in Barbaresco. Alfredo Prunotto founded his eponymous winery in 1922, selling the company to Beppe Colla – one of the founding fathers of modern Piedmont wine – in 1956. Colla was responsible for refining the company`s production and moving towards a more terroir-focused, site-specific approach to winemaking. Although overshadowed by the spectacular 1971 vintage, 1970 was a generally excellent vintage in Piedmont, producing full-bodied and ripe-flavoured Nebbiolo wines with good ageing potential.
