The 2013 Barbaresco is a gorgeous wine. Bright and translucent, with tons of Nebbiolo character, the 2013 exudes class. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, anise and white pepper give the wine its bright, chiseled personality. Readers should expect a mid-weight, gracious Barbaresco built on perfume, acidity and structure. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade. - Antonio Galloni
Pio Cesare Barbaresco 2019 is a classic expression of Nebbiolo from the renowned Barbaresco appellation in Piedmont, northern Italy. With over 140 years of winemaking history, Pio Cesare has become a symbol of quality in the region, passing through five generations. This wine is crafted from fruit sourced across nine vineyards in five villages, with a focus on Serralunga. The 2019 vintage is elegant and balanced, offering aromas of ripe red berries, rose petals, and subtle earthy notes. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with firm tannins and vibrant acidity. While approachable now, this wine has the structure to age beautifully, developing more complexity over time. A quintessential Barbaresco, ideal for both immediate enjoyment and long-term cellaring.
