Roagna`s 2006 Barbaresco Crichët Pajé stands out as an unusually approachable vintage. While true to the winery`s character, it exhibits a slightly softer and more inviting side. This powerful and structured wine displays Roagna`s signature complexity, featuring intriguing notes of iron, smoke, incense, tobacco, and earthy autumn leaves. The array of savoury flavours adds depth and richness to the palate, making it a delightful experience for discerning wine enthusiasts.
The 2006 Barbaresco Crichët Pajé is a touch reduced at first. Aeration and time gradually release hints of dark cherry, gravel, menthol and licorice. It’s an attractive wine, but one from Luca Roagna’s early period. When it was released, the 2006 gave the impression of a wine with some evolution.
