Ardnamurchan The Midgie is a Highland single malt whisky produced at the Ardnamurchan Distillery in Glenbeg, Acharacle, Scotland. Produced in homage to Scotland`s most infamous inhabitant, the Highland midge, Arndamurchan The Midgie combines peated and unpeated single malts matured in 13 ex-Bourbon barrels, one ex-Sherry butt, five ex-Sauternes barriques and five ex-Madeira barriques. A sweet, smoky dram with notes of crystallised ginger, nougat, Manuka honey and cooked peaches.

Ardnamurchan

One of the newest distilleries in Scotland, owned by Adelphi - famous for their excellent range of independently bottled whiskies. Ardnamurchan is a modern distillery in every sense - power comes in part from a hydro-electric generator, hot water is provided via a biomass boiler while any waste products from the distillery is either converted into animal feed or crop fertiliser.

The team produce both peated and unpeated whiskies, initially focussing on a highly successful run of limited edition bottlings while a core range is developed. The distillery manager is Fraser Hughes, formally of Bowmore.
