Amarone Pra Morandina 2017

HED24573 75cl 17%
Pra Morandina Amarone 2017 is a passito-style wine from the Amarone della Valpolicella appellation of Veneto, northern Italy. Located in the province of Verona, Graziano Prà is a family-owned wine producer established in 1983. This Amarone della Valpolicella is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, all from organically farmed vineyards. ""A burly wine of considerable concentration. A twine of green pepper, stalky fennel and Alpine amaro, with some barrique cedar edges. Yet the mid-palate lacks the gusto necessary to mitigate and ameliorate the herbal patina. Made on a drier side, with the pursuit of freshness evident. This may turn a corner." Ned Goodwin, 2023
- The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Morandina is youthfully coy, slowly evolving with a delicate blend of dusty rose, stone dust and dried strawberries. This displays fantastic balance, cooling and crisp, with silken textures and depths of red and black fruits that slowly saturate. Crunchy tannins resonate as the 2017 tapers off dramatically long and staining, leaving a pleasantly bitter twang and saline minerals to linger on.
